A lovely spreading rose tops this grand ring, and open rosebuds and leaves cascade down the sides of the finger. The engagement ring holds the largest rose, thick curls of metal, a tiny rosebud and an offset leaf. The wedding band curls up and around the shape, with a leaf and another open rose. This is a wedding set built for long-term wear. Although the ring is tallish, there are no protruding parts- the design rises up from the finger in an even dome, just about 3/4" (15mm) at the widest point, tapering to 4.5mm on the bottom. Set with a 5mm Ceylon sapphire of exquisite color- pale blue with a hint of gray and lavender. There's visible color zoning through the stone with lighter spots, and the cut is an old Indian cut with concentric circles of facets rather than long triangular facets. This stone came from a specially bought batch and is not a replaceable piece. Because it has a Mohs hardness of 9, this stone will last for years. 10.8 grams Sterling Silver.
